Borgo Ghiora

Casentino

In the heart of the rolling hills of Tuscan Casentino, an ancient medieval hamlet called “Ghiora”, has been brought back to life caring for all details and respecting its origins.
An enchanted island of stone and terracotta seems to spring from the tender womb of a sunny and solemn countryside.

Located at 550 meters above sea level, on the slopes of the Alpe di Catenaia hills, the complex is immersed in a splendid natural setting, with rich vegetation comprising Mediterranean shrub land, olive groves, and pine and chestnut forests. The origin of the hamlet goes back to 1274 – 1278, as registered in the “decimari” (tax registries). The nucleus was totally restructured in the years going from 1991 to 1995 and it comprises 20 residences built with natural local stone, with 4500 meters of adjoining land of meadow and woods. The residences can be on one or two floors of living space, with a separate entrance, equipped with independent plants, swimming pool and typical high quality Tuscan furnishing.
