Royal Villa in Marlia, is one of the most famous historic villas of Lucca safeguarded by the Superintendence authority.
It was the residence of Napoleon’s sister, Princess Elisa, and the first king of Italy Victor Emmanuel II of Savoy.
The 18,000 square meters property is part of a park of 19 hectares where are still preserved seventeenth-century gardens including the magnificent “Teatro di Verzura”.

Among the most important historical Italian dwellings, Villa Reale in Marlia, is part of the monumental “VilleLucchesi” built from the fifteenth century, in the countryside near Lucca. The Villa’s complex is surrounded by a large park and is the result of various interventions stratified over the centuries by various owners. The intervention currently underway, under the protection of the Superintendence authority ,concern the Royal Villa and the Clockhouse’s Palace; it includes the covering refurbishment, the facade renovation and stabilization and all its frames.
